The Chang's and Tam's enjoying breakfast in Kelly's
hotel room (Rm102). The curtain had to be closed to
cut the glare.

View from the balcony of hotel
room. Astoria Bridge and the Astoria marina in the background

View from another angle

Kelly tilts his head per the photographer's instruction

View of the marina. Can you
identify Tom's boat?

Teddy and Bernardette preparing the boat ...

... while Captain Tom's getting the engine started.

Kelly unties the rope and hands to Teddy. The S.I.T.'s
are hard at work

Waved goodbye to Tom, Teddy, and Bernardette
...

... as DanaII slowly pulls away from the dock. No, the boat is not leaving without Kelly.

Kelly meets the boat at the service dock located about 300 yards away. The two female S.I.T.s are already on their way.

The Chow's showing Teddy how to tie down the boat

Tom gets busy in pumping the sewage out of the boat

At the same time, filling the gas tanks (left and right) with
gas. Volume discount: less 10cents per gallon if over 100 gallons

On board DanaII, leaving the Astoria marina on her way

If this is not calm water, what is?

It's past noon, Kelly and Catherine busy preparing lunch ...

...featuring crab meat, prepared from Sat's catch. It would be cold-cut meat had the Lau's showed up and ate the crabs

Catherine putting on the final touch/taste ...

... while Kelly prepares the condiments

View from the rear of DanaII of the unusually calm river.

Even Tom commented repeatedly that he had never experienced such smooth
water. The Tam's enjoying the
lunch comfortably on the upper
deck

A special sandwich for the Captain. See, no cucumbers
and no mustard!

Besides the taste, the look is
especially  important in the presentation

See, pleasing the captain earns a spot at the pilot's seat

A cargo ship heading the opposite direction. Any view of the calm Columbia River

After lunch, time to rest the full stomach for a short nap

Teddy at the control wheel

Longview, WA, and the Longview Bridge

The city is home of many paper mills and wood mills

Overtaking a large timber barge

Teddy the S.I.T. seems to handle the tie-down quite well after the moring lesson

Tom gets busy refueling. Note the choppy water in the background.

Pulling away from St. Helens, OR heading for Portland

Even the captain joins the photo session. Who's driving
the boat?
