72'ers at WYCHK Speech Day 2002
14-Nov-2002

Speech Day

It is Wah Yan's tradition to invite graduates of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. years back to the school for this annual event.

Many guests arrived WYCHK before 7:00pm. Due to the popularity of cars, the playground area which served as the alternate parking lot was full -- a very well attended event. Mr. Paul Yip, a current WYCHK teacher and a past student (Class of 1987) is in charge of the Information Technology (IT) department of WYCHK. Through the arrangement by Assistant Principal Law, the graduates of Class72 were very fortunate to have a guided tour of the IT facility, from the network distribution stations to the main server room to the multimedia learning center. The '72 graduates would like to thank Mr. Law and Mr. Yip for their kindness.

The '72 graduates then joined the cocktail reception in the open lawn area between the school hall and the first floor classrooms, where they were greeted by former and current teachers, along with numerous graduates and students afar and local. Kelly Chang also had the opportunity to chat with his former San Francisco Alumni Chapter committee member Josuha Lau (Class of 1992) , who also traveled from the San Francisco Bay Area to attend this event.

The evening dinner soon followed. There were about 20 tables with 2 tables of 1972 graduates, which is believed to have the most presence by graduate year. The '72 graduates met more former teachers and Jesuit Fathers at the dinner tables. Despite the average catered food, all attendees seemed to enjoy the gathering and the entertainment on stage.
