ReunionII Postponed:
The ReunionII Organization Committee met during the weekend of May4
and decided to postpone the reunion to later part of 2003 or
even 2004, depending on the SARS situation. Here is the email sent
out by John Wong, thanks to John for the status!
Subject: Reunion
Date: Mon, 5 May 2003 09:29:36 -0400
Dear All,
This is the time everyone has been waiting for.
In consideration of the unclear development of SARS worldwide, a
decision is made to postpone the reunion
to a later date. This will be later than what we hoped for. Possibly
end of
the year or even some time next
year. This is made in consideration of everyone concerned and their
families. We decided that if we
were to meet, we should meet with no reservation, and not to let our
families worry.
However, the locals here in Toronto decided to have a small gathering
in end
of June to talk about old times.
We will meet again next month to look at the development and hope to
fix a
date as early as the
situation allows.
Good health to all,
John Sze-chung Wong
ReunionII Update:
John Wong sent out an update after the ReunionII Organization Committee had a meeting on 9-Apr-03. Due to the current SARS affecting worldwide travel, the ReunionII may be postponed to a later date if the situation does not improve in the near future. Below is the email John sent out, thanks John for the update!

Subject: Reunion
Date: Thu, 10 Apr 2003 12:04:22 -0400
Dear All,
We had an intensive meeting last night, at David Wong's place (thank you,
David), on the
schedule of the reunion in June. Due to the outbreak of SARS and its continuous
spread, I am
sure everyone is concerned about its development. After an extensive debate
within our group, we
decided to keep a close monitor on the situation and review our plan again
on May 2. At the
same time we have also worked out a contingency plan that if the situation
does not improve, we
will postpone our reunion to late summer in the interest of everybody.
I suggest that anyone who are planning to attend the reunion put everything
on hold first until our
next meeting in early May. By then, we should decide on the schedule.
In the meantime, I would like to get inputs from everyone that if, and
only if, we should postpone
the schedule, when would be a more appropriate date - late August? early
September? or any
other suggestions? Please send your responses to K.Y.Ng at ky.ng_AT_intria_DOT_com
.
And if the
schedule is changed to late summer, would that affect your plan of bringing
family
members(spouse and/or children)?
Good health to everyone, and take care.
John Sze-chung Wong
